CPU running at 97C, Am i doomed?

So my CPU cooler apparently stopped working a couple of days ago without me realizing. My computer just started lagging and running like shit and then i thought I could try resetting my PC(I had already planned on doing this in the near future anyway). But after a lot of trouble getting windows to install and work properly again I downloaded a program to check the temp of my components and my CPU was 97C. So at this point i'm quite concerned since the PC had been on for maybe 40 hours without any cooling. Do yall think this has killed my CPU or should I still be good?
