Hi! can anyone tell me how to achieve this look/effect? I've been trying to figure out how for a long time now but people keep gatekeeping it for some reason. I'd really appreciate it if anyone could tell me how.

Example:

Video example:

You could see the white dissolves into the black, ive tried to achieve this effect countless of times but failed everytime. I just cant seem to recreate this effect, im starting to think its a filter built inside a program or something now honestly, please help me, i'd appreciate it so much, thank you.

Looks like it mimics old high contrast high grain super8mm/16mm film.

Seems like it's desaturated footage with high contrast, then blue noise or similar noise applied over it with a blend mode, and then another layer of graphics or particle effects also blended on top.

You could try using contrast and adding pop filters/grain. Another effect could be vhs dissolve.
