Nope, its because you expect artists to waste a lot of their time on a logo that the other person will only pay for after, and likely wont pay at all. Its retarded, and its a scam. You are paying for the skill/time and while it does not take too long to learn it, to make a good logo it may take time. You dont know how to make a good logo, and you dont have the time to do so. So let someone else to it for you. Even if you dont like it you still have to pay for the time that went into it.
