Can the Crypto System work without internet?

I was wondering if the future of blockchain technology can go offline to allow transaction in areas where internet connection is not available?

probably in the future but not much use for it if the internet dies entirely

maybe internet connection is available everywhere, just like air or something. then maybe we will think how can we upgrade it. just a thought i can't imagine now :D

Is it possible for internet to be everywhere like air?

This has got to be one of the worst threads I've seen in a long time...

Let's take on the denotation of cryptocurrency: "a digital currency in which encryption techniques are used to regulate the generation of units of currency and verify the transfer of funds, operating independently of a central bank."

So in other words; cryptocurrency by definition is strictly digital.

We already have regular bank notes and coins that can work offline, so there's always that.

probably in something like 2030ish, although could be sooner
