Checking my proxies overnight. Does it make any sense?

Does it make any sense to gather a list of proxies (around 1000 or something) and test them with a proxy checker overnight? Does anyone else do that? I'm new, so I'm trying to create my own workflow stuff and I end up with more questions than answers.
