Mostly I want cash, that way I can just buy what I want when I see it instead. Though I've already gotten to open a single gift early, from my boyfriend no less. The gift was a set of 10 Akatsuki Rings from the anime Naruto and I am overjoyed!

Cash or giftcards can be the best gifts but also carry very little meaning

Well that is true. Though the intention of a gift is to make someone happy, correct? If that person doesn't want anything specifically, then it is better to go with a gift card than gambling it.

Yeah, I personally love receiving cash or giftcards but I know a lot of people who refuse to give that because they think it seems like they didn't give an effort

i'm hoping for straight up cash, in my opinion cash is the best gift to get because you can choose the gift yourself. the person giving you the gift wont have to worry if they got you a bad present and you wont have to have a new unintended decoration in your bedroom
