Cinema chains are closing or operating at reduced capacity due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Do you think cinemas will recover after the pandemic or do you think online video platforms such as Netflix and Prime Video will continue to dominate the release of movies?

I'm rooting for cinemas to pull through and recover, it's a unique experience going to the cinema to watch a movie rather than being at home. Although nowadays it's easier and more convenient to stream at home with the ease of Netflix, amazon and so on. Aswell as people pirating movies online, just makes cinemas seem redundant.

I think anything involving large groups of people is going to see a huge resurgence once the pandemic's over - people are craving group experiences. It may start out as something like Drive-Ins or Movie screenings in parks, but the theatre experience won't be far behind once people get comfortable breathing each other's air again.

I never really went to the movies often but I still miss it, I hope we can get them back soon and safely.

if we are being honest, the only time you went to the cinema was for a awkward date or to burn some times with friends or family but, it would be a shame to see alot of locally cinemas close due to a pandemic.

I think people realize during the pandemic the large importance that Cinemas play. I myself love to go to the cinema as a social activity. I've been missing it greatly. Looking forward to going back to my old habits.

I loved the cinema myself. Good time to just sit and unwind and enjoy the movie experience, but just before the pandemic I did go to a couple of movies were some teenagers (accompanied by parents) would be noisy/ kicking chairs and whatnot which wasn't very pleasant, or the brute fella trying to impress his date would constantly talk over dialogue plot points and ignore people when told to quiet it down . And being the non-confrontational introvert, the situations pissed me off massively.
So it was a nice experience over the holidays when I found myself watching Wonder Woman in the comfort of my own home with no risk of rowdy interruptions. The cinema experience is absolutely delightful if the audience/public are considerate/respectful of each other.

There will always be people going out to the theaters because it's a fun way to hang out with friends. So the companies might be struggling and probably many won't recover but new ones will pop up no doubt.
