#1 Part 1. Fun
Accidentally turned off ublock origin while watching pornhub. clicked into this rpg game that have really cute waifus and a somewhat interesting story to go with it. checked the leaderboard, i was at ~5500th place. "free to play all the way man, there's no way such a dumb gacha game can land its claws on my wallet" so i thought as I continue to progress.
Part 2. Multiplayer
So this game actually have guilds, Guild vs Guild wars filled with tactics, and a incredibly friendly community. it is legitimately incredibly fun to sneak a win past really strong guilds using clever tricks and coordinated backstabs, almost got a eve online feel to it. still very fun.
Part 3. Cancer
I was lucky enough to get one of the two most op characters in the free gacha roll (a attacker that can deal up to 4600% its base attack with just the right set of move order). however to be in the top of the leaderboard you have to grind for half a year. or pay for other op characters.
and so I paid.
for a skin of the other op character (AOE) that can give instant access to the original character too.
truth be told, the dangerous mentality of spending money on rolls as a norm is slowly creeping into my mind. however, I was used to spend 100 bucks for 2 AAA titles preorders that eventually don't ever live up to the hype (yes, cyberpunk), so spending on what I actually find engaging and interested to work out the details & maths is much more "fun". hell, the pvp community isn't pure cancer or toxicity or tryhard for once.
IDK man, I did not regret paying for the skin and other stuff at all. perhaps this is perfectly fine as long as what you spend is disposable money, or perhaps all the clever sugarcoating and spoon-fed brainwashing had finally got onto me.
so conflicted right now... can you guys give me advice on if spending spare money on this (what I did) was fine or is was it wrong no matter what?
