LOL at the responses it all depends on where you are public or private property i study practical law. From what ive learnt when youre parked in a trailer park or apartment complex cops cannot mess with you unless called if youre parked in a subdivision or on a street they can get behind you turn their lights on probable cause on suspicious character

If a cop is feeling bored and parks in a spot that he can clearly see your plate, then yes. He can search your plate or pull up to check for suspicious activity.

They can ask questions but your not obligated to answer
