Does anyone think Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency will become mainstream? How long before it becomes an acceptable currency by the common people?

I strongly believe that the blockchain technology is the new revolution. The idea behind it will be mainstream and used everywhere in the future. But I don't believe that Bitcoin (or any other crypto-currency (CC) at this moment) will be mainstream. In my opinion, there is a big problem with the value of CC. The value of CC is high because of speculations and the demands of people in order to become fast rich/make profit in short-term. What I mean is that the value of CC is not related to the amount of usability and the fact that people wants an anon currency, it's because people read and hear about the profit of other people and they don't want to miss the boat.

I thought it was the supply and demand driven more than the easy availability of CC. Very naive to this entire concept and definitely don't want to miss the boat either.

Maybe not the currency, but the technique behind it. I think this will be the future of datahandling, communication systems and so on.

Different countries has their own CC and they are also trying to gain power over and control them by CC.

As example:
  • Venezuela - Petro (to bypass VN restrictions)
  • China - NEO (the Chinese eq. of Etherium; where the Chinese gov. has good relations the founders Da Hongfei & Erik Zhang)
  • Dubai - emCash
  • Russia - cryptoRuble & Etherium (the founder of Etherium is a Russian guy. There are rumours that Russian gov. works together in orderto regulate the CC market within Russia)
  • and many more..
