Is curved screen or flat monitors better?

My buddy has a curved screen and i'm jealous of how good his looks.

flats are better for me, I really like 4:3 screens too to be honest, don't call me a freak, I've used one since I was around 4 years old and now I just can't make the jump to 16:9 lol

I mean... I guess technically they're better because it's curved and fits your field of vision a bit better than a flat screen, but it's not like gonna make a noticeable difference in your day-to-day life, it just might look a bit better and cooler. Not to mention the giant price tag hanging over your bank account.
I'd say wait til the price goes down on them, the tech isn't that revolutionary. If you want a curved screen, get a TV and just watch your favourite shows or movies instead.

personally, i prefer a three monitor setup (flat of course) going around my desk, but in any case where that'd be too large or unaffordable, a curved monitor would probably be best

curved monitors offer a wider fov without compromising picture quality. In my opinion larger monitors are better curved to present a more consistent viewport at all angles.
