This is a hack that will add icons to your forum categories on the forum home page

Install
1 . Upload
2 . Import XML

Setup
Going to admin.php
applications > Display Node Tree
choice Node you want add images

Node Icon 1st < upload
Node Icon 2nd < upload

Does anybody knows if I can change read/unread icons with this mod?

You can but this mod is shit. You're better off adding a simple code to change icons. Though it is free here so that's a bonus!
