I think LoL is easier for a complete beginner to get started, so you can start with this and after you learn the concept and the mechanics, check out Dota

League of Legends is better than Dota, i like more League of Legends

I've only played Dota 2 so I have to say Dota, LoL is a pretty popular game so it must have some good things about it.
