1. Reduce character limit to 10-20. (50 chars puts off many users and they have the mentality of needing to make an HQ post or not post at all). Let's try to keep things more casual.
2. 15 posts will get you only ONE free download. You must upgrade to increase download limit and have a cool down period to repeat. Download limit depends on upgrade tier.
3. Only upgraded members show up on activity list.
(This keeps the leeching scums quiet, and people who really want to be part of the community louder. Could this make the forum look more dead im the beginning, sure. But we need a fresh start and we need to clean this bih.)
Edit: Oof some peeps don't like #3, so lets take it down a notch. Once user reaches x amount of posts user will show up in activty feed :^)

I'm just replying, it's not my call, but I would be pretty surprised if Aoki even considers the third one. It's essentially devaluing peoples contributions to the forums unless they pay for an upgrade.
Are leechers annoying? Yes, of course. However, NBB is in a niche where they play a rather big part in traffic numbers which is kinda important when you run ads for revenue too. It's about moderation, not just putting up a stone wall around the default user group. That affects more than leechers, doesn't it?

Making someone who cares change their avatar is actually a decent requirement because it doesn't involve an investment that they may regret (unless their avatar is their dick or something)

If they want to be part of the community they will make the attempt. Why not make X amount of post unlock the ability to show up in activity. This will sort out the leechers from the community posters.
