What you'd be doing:What you get:
- Managing the sections, moving threads, deleting spam and low quality posts etc
- Improving the overall quality of sections with your personal input
- Extra swag with a postbit background and second usertitle
- Moderator tools
- maybe depressions
This is way too much to have around 45 users with these permissions. It's more of a trusted member than a mod section.
Lol. That's why the users he picks are gonna be OG af. If we were to pick "trusted users" by Aoki's standards, there wouldn't be many. Trust me. Allowing member to stop a user from posting is a big deal. Like I said before this is a mod level power and as such, should be treated with great respect. Which is why this is basically sectional.
Look at some of the apps and types of members who applied for sectional mod. Those are the type of members that have a chance of having such a privilege to stop a member from posting. You have to be an active/high quality/trusted member by Aokis standard. I'll probably say there are 10-15 who have a chance of being a "trusted member".

RE: Stop leech spam
This isn't the first forum I'm running and I'm actually able to share a bit of experience with a system like this.
We basically had this system where new users were in a let's say "leecher" group which was their default group when they signed up for an account on the site. This group had the ability to post, but the posts did not show up for anyone except staff members, waiting for approval. After about 10 posts (iirc) which got approved by staff, the user would be automatically promoted to a regular member group with no posting limits and the ability to post without staff approval, basically a normal member.
It reduced low quality and spam posts by let's say 95% (cause you always have some normal members which don't behave in their best way too) but there were some problems with it:
There may have been several other problems but I can't even remember them anymore since we dumped the system after like a month or two again.
Blaze was staff at this time too so he might be able to give you his own input on it.

- It reduced the general forum activity a lot and I really mean a lot.
- We were only a team of like 4 staff members, 3 from the EU and 1 from the US. If someone with a different timezone than the EU signs up and waits for his posts to be approved he has to wait several hours since most staff is asleep, at school or at work, which made them instantly quit and never came back, which I actually understand. I wouldn't bother with that myself.
- Staff had a lot of work to do. Going trough hundreds of posts every day wasn't something we enjoyed after like two weeks. Doing reports every day is fine, checking out some posts is fine but this was just too much.

#14 it's way easier to just report some of his posts and wait until staff is online
and don't come with this bullshit about stopping or limiting leechers from joining since that's how we get members
it's already rare to see a leecher turn into an actual member, way rarer to see somebody that joins this forum to be part of its community and most of the time those users already know ppl from here or are invited by friends.
when suggesting those leecher-related things you have to remember what consequences it will have to other aspects of the forum e.g activity, just like aoki said; restricting leechers from doing their thing or making it harder (such as actually giving normal upgraded members the ability to stop them from posting, which will of course be abused if no harsh limitations to the function) will demotivate them to stay so they'll go look for their stuff somewhere else cuz it's easier than a forum that tries to shoehorn them into being a good member when they're only here for leaks. it's best if we leave it up to them, honestly.
anyway back on topic - big no from me. this already exists in the form of bans, we don't need an additional function for that if we'll end up having to ban them anyway; if you want to suggest something in this sense you'd be better off suggesting for more ACTUAL staff from diff timezones to deal with this, not leave it up to a bunch of normal members to restrict others' posts at will.

so you're basically saying that leechers has a big role to play in the community and they should not get demotivated?
kindly,

kindly,
yes and no
what i meant by that is, some of the members that register to leech join the community later on
if we put up harsh restrictions for them like the stuff u suggested, those that might have stayed will not anymore
Awoo~!

kindly,
Yes. 100%.
Even though it's a small percentage of leechers, look at the recent news and look at the number of leechers who upgraded. Then see the number of those who became a fulltime member. Not to bad. I even made a poll and a large percentage chose "I came for the leaks, but I like nulled so I'll stick around"...
TL;DR Don't bite the hand that feeds you. Leechers are blood of nulled, ironically.

RE: Stop leech spam
Okay i gotta admit you both have a point, i didn't see it that way.
RE: Stop leech spam
So i was looking the past days and i found removedwhere staff needs to approve a user before joining, it's not the same concept as my idea but it gives the big picture. They have some good traffic .

Unnecessary thing to do and also too much work for staff

#22 Just a suggestion and don`t know if it will work since one user may report another user. Adding a new feature called "Auto freeze" if three members report a user as "Leecher" until mods or staff become online. This could help in my opinion!
