I recently wrote my first submission for the group news section of forum news and tagged several members. Later after submitting my piece one of those members contacted me, tey were tagged and had notification but had insufficient privileges to view the section which of course caused a little confusion.

Any way we can stop notifications if a member is tagged in the article submission section in the writers section?

I can see how this would be annoying, this doesnt seem that hard to me to do. Maybe you dont have to tag the members?

Tagging the members gives puts the users current name / links to their profile in the news. It keeps the names up to date no matter if that change it, and makes the news look better.

OP usually what I did was just type the UID without the @. Then asked whoever was writing the news to just put the @ in. Since if you were to do that, the poster of the news would have to search for the UID's again.

So they can't complain then if it's a must then the people mentioned shouldn't complain. Anyways how are you doing?

The thing is that people get tagged on the News Submission page, which they can't see because, most of the time, they aren't on the news.

At least that's what I think he's talking about. I feel like they got rid of that months ago, but I'm not in the news anymore I wouldn't know \_()_/
