First things first. I want to apologize if this has been posted before. I tried searching but I may not have been using the right search tags.So if this was posted before. Feel free to delete it.

This is just an idea. At least this is how I ran my site years ago. This site seems to have a plague going on with leechers. (I am aware that I am new here but im working on getting myself known on here)
One thing we did was all the leak section we made private from the new users. Example less than 50 posts you wont have access to the leak section. for that matter you wont even know there is that subcategory. Another tackle would be premium based.

What im trying to get out is. NulledBB is very public. Meaning you can just google a leak from somewhere and easily find it. Thus making this plague more prominent that what it should be. My suggest would be to add a similar feature of what I stated to help weed people out.
If its not public this said plague would not exist.

That's all I got for my 2 cents lol.

You pretty much proved my point. people would come here other than leaks meaning no leechers. More userbase for the Site. Not freebies.

remember that any forum getting profits from traffic that's why getting people here is their first priority not filtering leechers aalone

Well you are correct about traffic. But also wrong about it. Having leeches traffic come in is good and all for profits. But when your system bans majority of them traffic then slows down. This site gets a crap ton of new users expecting free shot. Thus posting constant amount of posts just to reach what they need and grab what they need. Then they leave and dont sign back in until the next leak they want. That doesnt do anything for your profits. Its not only about the number of users but also the number of active users.

If they want revenue they can add ads and have a new user group to pay a fee to remove the adds for that group.

A owner must also consider the seriousness of the site as well. If you have a site filled with leeches the site wont be taken seriously or mature. It will be forever known as a site that supports warez. Im not saying having a leak section is a bad idea no not at all.

What is a bad idea is having the leak section public. As Im sure thats what you are here for am I wrong?

So do you think hiding leaks from new members (<50 posts) will help to get rid of leechers? You know, I don`t think so. Some of them have the ability to post 20 fake threads in less than 5 minutes!

You are right, the post limit is already set at 15, if it increases to 50 then there will be more spam posts, I don't think it will stopthem at all, it will more than likely make them more determined.

A better system would be that newly registered members need to be active and once theyve made like 15-20 have a button they click which is to apply for access to the leak forums. Staff and Admins should be able to approve/deny anyone prior to being able to get access to the leak sections.

This may encourage new members to be more creative in their content posted and make an effort. Like say the user needs 15-20 posts, created 2 threads and 2 hours online. Very similar to the upgrade system. Have requirements and then need to apply and be approved.

Aoki and Aisaka thoughts on that idea?

lol I love how an example was the only thing taken from what I said. That was just a quick example to get you to see options. You don't have to change the count. You can do it via rep based ect. Soo many different ways to implement it.

Ill try a different approach.

Lets say you want to keep it at 15. Which is fine. Little short imo but hey what works for you right lol. There are multiple different ways to approach this. Ill list a few ideas.

Keep leaks tab hidden until a said checklist has been met. Example on that would be Post count, rep count, length of time active, avatar set, ect. list keeps going.

A more efficient way to do it would be rep based. You can keep the section open for the world to see but you cant do anything without a rep based system. Example on that would be have to have a rep count of lets say 5 for the hell of it. That's one respectable approach.
I can keep listing but don't have much time at the moment.

This is actually the most decent idea I have seen and I have seen alot of these threads in my time here, maybe it could be as simple as you cannot access leaks with your first 24 hours of registration, still be able to post, like etc.

In my experience people have an idea pop in their head to google for tools and get them, I am assuming in 24 hours they will completely forget or to have simply moved on to a different site.
