This is actually the most decent idea I have seen and I have seen alot of these threads in my time here, maybe it could be as simple as you cannot access leaks with your first 24 hours of registration, still be able to post, like etc.

In my experience people have an idea pop in their head to google for tools and get them, I am assuming in 24 hours they will completely forget or to have simply moved on to a different site.

This would also be a good way to approach this. Keeping it hidden for a period of time and have approval for the section would work probably the best. That way its more monitored. But that's also a lot of work for the staff too.

Simply keeping it hidden for 24 hrs will also take the leaks off the public so less spam accounts more legit userbase.

Exactly what I thought about more work for staff, that's what bought the idea to my head

I can offer a lot of ideas on the subject. First of all, let me explain.

Users often don't sign up here to do spam. They come to get the content they like. When they see the 15 message rules that limit them, they get annoyed and write absurd comments. And they get what they want. My suggestion is that after they become a member, they will receive an 8-hour counter. And let the countdown to make the forum appear. I think it connects everyone (new members) here. People value. You will be managing the most important time. This will give them a very good lesson. Nobody wants to spam after waiting for 8 hours. You should consider this proposal.

Agree with biostar, put a timelimit before they have access to leak section + 15 post limit as it is now.

This problem was less rampant in the old times when the leechers actually got banned, nowdays I can easily make an alt right now and spam to get credits and leech but i'd doubt i get banned until its too late

Staff do what they can to ban leechers. We cant catch them all, you act like we dont ban any. Ive been banning leechers like mad since I became staff. If you wanna test your theory go for it. Youll be closed very quickly without appeal rights.

One thing that can help prevent that (it won't stop it 100% do to VPN) Is IP logging. Ban and IP based off offense or even hardware ID. If you want to do a 3 strike system. hat could work too. But still more work for the staff. If you run IP logging, it can be automated. Let the ban appeals be used for review. That's one solution to your problem.

If you do Hardware ID. There is no making a new account period unless they hop on to a new PC.

We did ban VPN I.P addresss in the past but the ban was lifted due to a huge volume of our user base being on a VPN and getting auto banned. I do believe we should bring back the I.P system and work more closely with setting requirements and restrictions.

well its hard to ban based off VPN. strictly do to its flexibility. But if you have an automated ban system for Simply ip banning based off level of offense. It will at least help the filtering process rather than isolate it completely. Those with a VPN is not a big percentage. A lot less than what you may think. VPN's are big. but not that big. Same with running a VPS.

One other thing too is IP locking. After lets say ban number two for a specific user. YOu can lock their IP so they cant make a alt from that Address. Or if it were me, Id hardware and IP ban. At least with a hardware ban maybe 2% of the scene will know how to hardware sploof XD

To be honest there is more we could do but if you guys reported profiles instead of 15 threads by one user I would be able to complete reports faster.
That is the biggest issue I see when looking at reports.5 users could be reported but it's 75 separate reports and we need to go through them all.
