Hi,

Does anybody on the forum knows exactly why the trial period of WinRAR never expires?

There can be two reasons for this;

1. Either this is the coding Malfunction which never expires the counter.
2. Or this is some kind of a business strategy.

Given the first possibility, why did the developers never rolled out any hotfix?

For the second option, what exactly are they accomplishing by just showing a message at the startup? The functionalities are all the same and they do work all the time.

What is your say?

When I first got winrar back in 2011 I got the buy thing and almost did until my buddy said I can keep using it without paying, so I was close, but I didn't. I don't know anyone who has either.

Personally no, but I saw people on eBay do it.

Guess Americans want everything legit.

I remember a kind of urban legend abut someone's mother that bought it as a gift to him

I don't know anyone who purchased the full version of Winrar and you're right it is pretty strange, why would they lock it after the 30 day trial. I am guessing because of 7zip since that one is free.

I don't see why people would still use Winrar, I use 7-zip. No longer getting that annoying box telling me to buy that shit.
