It depends on what you want to do. If you just want to talk with friend (and even more so with non-technical) then Skype is not as bad and is much easier.
However if you want to talk with friends during playing games then only Discord or TeamSpeak 3. Reason is simply: lower resources usage and voice activation. You don't have to listen friend room noise Smile

Some fun fact: I want to talk with Discord mobile first time on the loudspeaker without holding the phone to ear so I volumed it up to the max and... I was confused why this is so quiet. Some days later I recognized that I must change output to the loudspeaker in options and previously it was just speaker from conversations with phone near the ear

I mean, at this point at time, id argue that discord is better than anything, available online instead of as a program, has groups, better ui, better quality sound, etc..

Thanks for the response! Discord is much cleaner and feels much nicer to use.

Yes, you are definitely right and in everyday use I have more interaction and talks on Discord but Skype is not dead too.
I associate Discordmore with gaming community and I also love to have interactions here with streamers which I'm watching on Twitch tooSmile

Discord has done a really good job in both their design and marketing choices so far. I think Slack and Discord will continue becoming more popular, as they're just that much better than other communication tools - Slack for business, and Discord for informal communications and communities.

Definitely yes and which is the most good - Discordbroke the teamspeak monopoly. No more paying sick prices for licenses

I think old people still use Skype. Discord is more for the younger audience in my opinion.
