I use discord rather actively now. From a community stand point Discord have a lot to offer. It can even act like a very simple bulletin board / Forum essentially. I like its layout, and it is gamer friendly. I found if I ran skype it would drain resources from my mid tier pc.
My community have abandoned teamspeak for discord. As essentially it promotes people to be more social rather than just sitting in their own private rooms.
I like how you can be talking in one room, but actively typing in a whole other server.
Downtime has been very little, I can't comment on skypes downtime as I have not used long enough to see if it ever has gone down, I have found when there is an issue discord staff get it worked out in speedy time. And they are constantly adding in new features.
Also, how nice it is connected to twitch / steam library etc. :D

No, Discord is TS + IRC + Skype, in my opinion at least.
I prefer using Discord, but Skype has more people on it, however, many people are switching, and until every gamer switches to Discord, I'm not uninstalling Skype.

Oh right thanks for clarifying, might install it and see what it's all about. :glasses:
Only feature that it's missing is screen sharing, like you were able to on Skype. Other than that, it's everything that Skype and TS was without the problems and has more features.
