Discord vs Skype

Skype has really been giving me the shits lately and I've been trying to find a new alternative for overseas calls etc. But in terms of general chat I really like Slack although haven't tried Discord yet.

Yeah Skype has been doing really annoying things lately, such as deleting my contacts.
You should really give discord a try. Is currently the only real communication program I use anymore on my PC.

I prefer Discord like everyone said it has cool features although skype isn't that bad, i stopped using skype long ago because kids decide to pull you're IP somehow through skype and start hitting you offline.

The thing, is Skype has it's reputation and long life span where as Discord doesn't. Hence people are more favored to stay on a platform they've used for years. That being said, Discord is far better (objectively) than Skype is currently. Though Microsoft seems to be fully aware of this and seems to work towards a far better Skype to go alongside Win10.

More of a discord fan, doesn't kill my ram and disk drive when I open the damn thing up
