Definitely. It's unlimited, and children will NEVER get bored of that. Also, you can build, break, etc, which will not make children bored. I actually find it fun to build in minecraft.

I haven't played gmod in about 2 years, however just the other day I was watching a minecraft youtuber that was mildly entertaining. I think the game is still alive.
