Do violent video games promote violent behaviour?

Numerous studies have shown that graphic video games are not linked at all to actual violent behavior. It's been consistently proven that the actual causes of violence are much more nuanced - but people keep blaming games.

Depends of your mental stability. For people with mental problems, then yes.

Yes and no, no they do not promote violent behavor they actually help one releave stress. And yes, they do if one revolves playing the game for long periods and their mind brings that environment they live in to the real life. These are the dangerous people because they created what we call today a gaming disorder reality.

People who are the most violent usually don't play games.

Played violent videos games for years, never once have i thought about doing what them games contest in real life.

On its own I don't think so, but paired with other risk factors I'd say it can make things worse. But on the other hand, someone could vent out by gaming. Like many things, generalizing probably wouldn't work well to explain it

for me its a release, like blowing up the shopping malls in state of emergency or stomping around with a mech in armored core. people who become more violent are usually off center to begin with.

It all depends on how you were brought up and a persons state of mind. Anyone can be pushed to cause violent crimes but to place video games as the cause for that is foolish and nobody has proven it.
