Honestly any well written book that gets you immerse in it's world can do it for me- I especially like fantasy adventure books!

One book I recently read that I really loved was Riptide by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, but tbh one of the writer's chapters I really don't like. The way he writes is stupid. Fortunately he didn't end up working on the ending. One book series I really like is space scifi, Hyperion.

Try reading a chapter a day and if you start to grow on it then read 2 a day or more. As a programmer I tend to only read reference books but it could work the same for any book.
