It won't be midnight, it will be a scheduled time. Probably when when most regions are in the the same day.

I've heard some people can force this upgrade.
You need to check for Windows updates, install updates if any. Check your history and look for KB2952664 for Windows 7, or KB2976978 for Windows 8. Installing this has triggered instant downloadingfor some people, if it's already installed then you should wait.
If you have failed updates in the history, with "Upgrade to Windows 10" FAILED then you are not in the first wave. You'll get the update later in the day, or later.

To check if you're ready to install;
Check for a folder called $Windows ~BT in your C:/ (enable view hidden files). If this isn't present, you aren't ready.
To check if you're downloading;
Go to C:/Windows/SoftwareDistribution/Download. If you have a folder called Install, then you're downloading Windows 10.

If you have neither, and those updates are already installed. You have to wait.

P.S If you have the Install or $Windows ~BT folder, do not execute or edit anything within them. Trying to run setup.exe will result in an explosion :hurr: srsly tho, don't run it.

Windows 10 is coming any moment! Will you upgrade?
I will becuase I like the new design and the new browser :3

The only thing I find interesting is the 4 corner-snap. I'm not keen on the search bar, as it kinda forces you to use Cortana or to log in. I don't use my Windows email on Windows 8.1, I use a local account.

Sure, I expect it to be even lighter and faster than Windows 8.1. As well as some better features, but I don't know what to expect as the preview is not the finished product.

It's a shame they can't just give me the ISO with the free upgrade, as I don't want to keep my stuff if I upgrade. I also want to be able to test the OS first instead of erasing my current machine. I may just have to create a system backup.

Yea youre right, but I really need to refresh my system, because its full of scam! :(Now I will get the chance

It doesn't delete all of your stuff though. It's an upgrade, not a reset. The best way to clear spam and junk is to fully reset using an ISO.

You can reset your pc with windows 10 instead of doing an upgrade.. Or you can torrent the RTM from TPB and then it will automatically update it. For me atleast that's how it's going.
Nah

Yeah I googled. You can do a clean install using the upgrade. Just not sure if you can via the Windows Update downloaded version.

We will see.

I'll probably get Windows 10, but I'll wait a while. Until all the release bugs are ironed out.

Im gonna use 8.1 and wait some months before upgrading since 8.1 works perfectly fine for me and there is no reason to upgrade currently
