Well so long story short i built my pc not to long ago and didnthave the budget for a gaming headset. well since i record music i have a sure sm58 which is a high quality mic ran through a yamahamg10x soundboard and a audio interface. im using all xlr cables ($100 each mogami) and everyone says my mic quality on games is amazing. my question is is it worth it to get a nice gaming headset and will it be any better than my professional mic set up now??

Nope. No gaming headset with integrated mic will sound as good as a professional mic like yours.

to be honest, i've noticed that gaming headset microphones are rubbish, its much more affordable to get a nice pair of headphones and then something like a blue snowball (my setup as of right now).

Tbh i didn't see a difference between a 150 headset and a 30 one
Been using a relatively cheap one and its lasting way more than the previous (razer kraken) one

you will see some differents but the most important thin on a headset for me is a wireless

Personally, I have not noticed a difference. I have a Blue Yeti and I'm still not sure after a year if it sounds good or not.

What kind of fucking question is this? A professional microphone vs a piece of shitty plastic. Right op, smart question.

It depends, quality will def make a difference as long as long as you properly set it up, and it tends to last longer, however if you are in a situation with little money and on a short budget, a cheaper mic might be the better alternative

there really would be no point whatsoever doing that, if people say it's already good why'd you want it better

I personally use HD598s. And have had no complaints, directional sound is superb. Get open backheadphones if you plan on playing FPS games because they have a wider soundstage and directional audio will be muich better when compared to closed back headphones
