Never really watched DBZ but naruto is newer and the story is a masterpiece. I can't see DBZ competing with it.

naruto is awesome the story, the plot, the characters, animated fights are awesome

That's a hard one but I choose naruto because of the emotional story. Not naruto shippuden though.

I still have plans to watch dbz but due to naruto having a 3rd one(Boruto) going on rn, plus the current up to date arc on boruto looks interesting

I grew up watching Naruto, his character development over the years, and the fact that I started understanding what pain, itachi meant after growing up really hit different
