We've all seen it; we've been apart of it. NulledBB has been decreasing inactivity consistently for a while now. Users are moving from fora to social media. There's one exception, marketplace activity and 'leaks.' Leaks are great to lure new people to the platform; that's their purpose in the beginning. They're just leeching and don't care about any other activity on the forum. This is also the most significant drawback for a platform like NBB. Users are only there for leaks, not for a conversation or buying/selling. That is why still: the most activity comes from people leeching content and then disappearing.

What we see on competing fora is that they are now more focused on a marketplace-style platform. Of course, the content is still there to leech so that new people register and join the site, but on the other hand, a lot of activity is also gained in the Lounge and marketplace section because people stay and buy/sell their stuff. Yes, we have a "marketplace" on NBB, but it's more starved out than a Sahara desert. We have one "Premium marketplace" and one "Normal marketplace." What could work is to promote the marketplace more on NBB, adding more sections to the main categories. Such as:

  • Moving 'services' to both Premium Marketplace (Premium services) and Normal Marketplace (Services)
  • Adding sub-sections to the Premium Marketplace: Premium Services, Products, Accounts, Refunding, etc
  • Also applying this to the Normal Marketplace
  • Actively promote the marketplace more throughout the forum
  • Allow sales tags such as 'HOT SELLING' 'AMAZING', example here:

  • Move Discord chat activity towards the on-site activity. (Perhaps an on-site chatbox in V4?)

There's also another issue that is probably restricting major activity boosts towards the platform. The simple fact that the biggest competing forum has literally the same name as us and is much higher ranked in terms of SEO. Even if people think about NBB, they'll search it up and get directed to the wrong one. A name change for the forum would be impossible but making more use of the literal name Nulled'BB' could be a small solution.

Is there anything publicly known about 'V4' coming up? Are there notable changes compared to 'V3', and what would those be? I might be blind, and this has all already been pushed through :/

I like the idea of pushing the market aspect and bit more. Especially considering there should be some sort of "insurance and trust" between forum users (at least the upgraded ones).

I don't fully agree with all of these, especially the sales tag, considering they will most definately be abused. The revamp chat should be something to be looked at, considering the one currently takes forever to communicate and discord is considered "off-site".
Regardless though, this should be a good stepping stone when considering changes.

Style points for using the correct plural form of forum.

Pushing the market more comes with downsides, of course. There's probably going to be a shitton of unnecessary bumping and friend-vouching. But Aoki is creative, and I'm sure the userbase here is too. For instance, you could bump your thread with credits, or once every "x" amount of day(s). For the sales tags, yes: there is a possibility this will be abused, but so will bumping be and cross-posting threads. A great staff team can keep an eye out for such kind of activity, and since NulledBB is not involved in marketplace activity, it will always be the buyer's risk to deal and trade in the marketplace. The sales tags are pure visuals, they help with money coming into the forum, and they help keep buyers and sellers engaged in the market.

In the end, NulledBB isn't just a marketplace, so we should never consider it as one. But I think making it more involved with the community is a great stepping stone. The biggest competitor banned refunding services. Imagine if we could hype that up here.

Yeah, that was a good idea by the way also you said because of leaks section so many peoples are registering for that I assume we can add more section for there I just post a thread about that so I will not tell all of but your idea is better then me because so many people are don't look at marketplace a lot also if they can't see the tag you're said like hot-selling, etc. maybe this can change their attention to the section of the marketplace.

Also, your like a legend to me. when I register NulledBB I don't have any idea what is the forum work when a discover possibly forums. I saw your old posts and I said what a guy.
I am happy to see you here again.

Quite honestly, emphasis on anything else except of leaks is nice. People swing by and leave just as fast, leaving spamming posts. The staff is short handed and can only do so much.

May not be a marketplace, but any traffic right now is a good thing.

I've seen it happening to myself. Less and less activity, which results in other people using the forum less and less, is a big snowball effect. I really think we can boost engagement through more involvement in the marketplace section, groups, contests, yadda yadda.

Also thanks for the words, my comrade.

Any traffic except leeching is a good thing now Smile. I just wish we could grab the old squad together and start mass-posting again, keeping quality and content in mind.

I agree with you 100% in regards to the main objective of the forum has to change and open up into more categories, especially the marketplace. I strongly believe we need to work harder to eliminate the leeching possibility and the only solution I can come up with is an application system. I believe this would eliminate a lot of the spam for 15 posts to begin with and could really be a good turning point going forward, allow me to give an example of this potential system;

Anti Leech
  1. New user registers but cannot access any of the leak sections, throws them an error to apply for access.
  2. The user fills in a pre-created form which then gets added to a section within the forums called Applications.
  3. The application process is simple, the user has to be approved by a member of staff or have 5 votes for access (community-based).
  4. Once accepted the user is then moved to another group that can access the leak sections without any issues.

Sounds simple enough right? Now general checkboxes would be included and permissions required before being able to fill in the form, such as the 15 post requirement. The applying user would still need 15 community posts before being able to apply. If staff are offline the community can check their posts and if seems high quality enough vote to approve, if not they can mention staff or report the thread and it can be dealt with from there.

Strategy
I think we should be working on a better anti-leech system that is more community-driven as this would get more people involved and also reduce the volume of spam on the forums, it would allow staff more time to focus on other things such as the marketplace. NulledBB needs to be reborn in essence and a proper strategy in place to increase overall activity whilst also pushing more into a dominating forum got continued active userbase.

V4 News
I'll touch on v4 here briefly and only briefly as I'm going to be working on something else and we'll go more into detail on this later in that thread (news article coming soon). V4 was a massive overhaul for the forums, however, it slowly came to a halt due to the time to develop as well as some horrible stuff coming up toward the end of 2020. I'm hoping we'll be seeing some progress on this going forward, I will confirm there is no plan for an onsite chatbox but I do believe there is a good place for it and some additional incentives behind including one.
Please read the award requirements here before applying for them.

I find it odd that we can't go to first page on any of these? You have to edit the title and do it by page? Any fix for that?

I mean, with the rise of FiveM and other RP game servers, It would definitely help to have sections for each of these. FiveM mods are not only difficult to code but rather scarce in leaks
