It was reportedly heard from by Garry saying the next one is coming but didn't say when, I'm assuming it'll take stuff from CS:GO instead of Cstrike maybe or it'll be made with better tools and such, I'm looking forward to another Gmod.

I think it would by nice, just for the optimisations and maybe updated engine

Yeah, with the number of copies of regular Gmod I don't believe so. I'm surprised a port or at least an attempt for other consoles and platforms hasn't been made IMO. Again, there is constraints with the consoles but If it were to offer backward compatibility it would be very useful.

GMOD 2 maybe after Half-Life 3 ?

With an update engine ?
