Would love to see a remastered gmod or something along those lines

Source 2? No no no. I don't want to configure everything to a new engine. My word is "No!".

The new Garry's Mod will be S & Box.

Quote:Our intention with Sandbox is to take a powerful game engine (UE4 right now) and build a hotloading C# layer on top of it. The idea being that you will never have to touch C++, you never have to wait for things to compile, you never have to close the game while developing.

We're hoping that what we're making is engine agnostic. Our goal was to build this on top of Source 2, but that seems unlikely now - as it's doubtful that would have any actual benefit over what we're currently doing.

If GM is on hl2, Gmod will already be in 2 pieces.

i really hope they'll make some kind of GMOD V2.0 with new engine that would optimize the whole game

Is it just me or do you think that Garry should redo gmod on a new engine keeping the same main game?

This is actually a thing. It is in development and it has been in development for a while. Its a 64-bit system and has a lot more to offer. Its not going to be called Garry's Mod 2 or anything. You can check it out here https://sandbox.facepunch.com/

From one side its good, but if gmod will change engine it will make all addons from old version useless

If they made a new engine for gmod the chances that the current addons/gamemodes are compatible are slim I personally don't think it'd work it be worth it.
