So you would say `He sucked dick, and then he had an erection
; Someone did something and then someone did something else
And you would say `He likes dick more thansomething`

So when you go writing posts, they will be better than any other posts you made then.

Sometimes both words fit, and it changes the meaning...

I'd rather drink than smoke. (Drinking instead of smoking.)
I'd rather drink then smoke. (Drinking followed by smoking.)


Simpler way to distinguish: "then" is related to time, "than" is used for comparisons.
