I got one and it does a pretty good job. The only game so far that lags on maximum settings for me is Arma 3.

the gtx 980 ti is still a pretty good video card can probably find one on ebay for dirt cheap and get hell of performance out of it for the price.

970s go for around 150 - 190 or so.

depends what you do i suppose.

I would recommend going with a GTX 1070 instead of the 980 TI, it's around the same price, performance, and it uses less power to run

Yes, for now. but a 1080 ti will run like 59% faster than 980 ti, but if you don't have enough money that will do. i have a 960 Ti SCC and i can run most games pretty nicely, so the 900 series is still doing well. especially the 980 ti because it is the top tier of that series. its also the minimum you need to run a VR (Set by Nvidia)

It can be good for the price someone was selling one local to me for about 250. The 980ti is about the same performance as a 1070 but the 1070 does use less power however it is more expensive

False, now we have GTX 1080Ti. You can say it can run and play ALL games for the moment.
