There's been a few games where I wish I just hadn't ever picked them up in the first place. like, such a complete waste of time that I won't ever get back, or frustrating beyond reason, or stuff like that.

I'm curious what's on your "stay away from" lists.

for me it's idle games. oh my god, they are plague, both on mankind in general and myself in specific. I just can't look away. cannot put them down. they eat me for days, and when I finally get away I wish I'd never installed them.

any builder game played alone. like, minecraft, factorio, space engineers etc.I get REALLY INTO it and then lose my save for some reason and realize I don't miss it at all and suddenly there's other things I can do in life. maybe I just don't have the creative spirit, but like...at least make shared memories if you're doing it.

like 99% of indie RPGs. they just do not bring nearly enough to the table for the time investment.

Those gross little games that are like candy crush. It's so mind numming, I'd just quit playing after 10 levels or so Cause its cringey. Bejeweled is probably only the good one

I mean when I was like 16 I downloaded Morrowind and literally all I did for 2 straight weeks was play that game obsessively. I had been gaming since I was 3 years old you know, but nobody ever grabbed me like Morrowind.

Morrowind of all things! Looks like a potato!

Back in the day there were games with puzzles where you weren't sure if they even worked properly, like Myst and Zork. I could never shake the feeling they were a huge waste of time.

CS:GO.

Have about 1000 hours, and it feels like I haven't really gained anything.

A game like that isn't about making progress or getting achievements, for me it's similar to Garry's Mod in the way it is to mess about with new people and have fun. But the community is highly toxic and I feel as if I just haven't got this with CS.

Mordhau. It's fun at times but you can easily spend hours playing with little to no fun because of toxic players but an addicting game loop.

My life would have been so much better without rage-inducing games like trap adventure 1/2, getting over it and Pogostuck; I had thought these games would have been fun but boy was I very wrong!
