Garry's Mod Whats the meaning of darkrp?

I have a hard time saying what the average gametime is on this game since ive seen so many with way more than me. Currently im over 2500 hours and mostly spent it on a gamemode that was called GTARP. Pretty much semi-rp server which just got me hooked. So much that i at the end became the community manager and ended it due to lack of money and experience to code.

I tried keeping the server up as longas i could. But it wasnt easy with a gamemode that only topped 50 fps due to the unstable code that was being coded by so many people at different times. Afterall as i understood it the code was stolen or something but i had nothing to do with it, i just tried to continue with it since me and my friends had fun on it.

Ive tried other servers. Darkrp is for example one of the worst gamemodes in my opinion.. And to serious rp servers are just boring. I dont want to do /me on everything i do or get banned for going to the toilet and sitting afk while some dude tries to talk to me ingame (turns out he was an admin lol). But also dont like the fact that in darkrp you can just F4 to a new job or spawn in items out of nowhere. Thats why semi-rp was perfect. It added a bit of realism to the game such as going to an npc to get a job,purchase a building, custom cars and so on.

I still dont understand fully why darkrp is so popular. Cause of the people i met on semi-rp servers say they never go back to darkrp. Yet semi-rp servers are the ones to die out..

DarkRP is meant to have fun with friends, without entirely caring about the RP experience. If its broken, its broken. You can be what you want. And you try your best to just enjoy it!

I dunno why darkrp is as popular as it is.
I don't know why rp_downtown is as popular as it is.

But I know that it's fun to dick around on private friend servers, and that it's fun to troll admins on public servers.
And that it's also fun to mess with people on fucked up servers like fetish servers.
