Garrysmod 2?

Not sure what it will be. I think it's just nonsense that someone told you that you would sit and think

When the half life 3 comes out, I will have hope for the garry mod 2

Why to bother doing Garry's Mod 2 when the original developer did RUST in ideea of making Garry's Mod 2

They're in constant development of sandbox, which is their new game, check their progress on their discord.

Even if it is born, I would be very surprised if it were as free and accessible as Gmod.

I would love being able to play it in vr and to have better graphics

If it does come out, I don't think it will become as popular as its current one. Garry's Mod has a steady base but its not a high one at that.

It is unlikely that a Garry's mod 2 will ever be released. However, Facepunch (the developers of Gmod) are creating a new game that seems to be intending to do the same thing as Garry's mod but better, and it will be called Sandbox or S&box.

They are just gonna keep updating the same engine until it breaks completely

Since the game is called garry'smod because garry took a engine, and modded it to be a sandbox game, sandbox is a garry'smod 2
