A single 1Gbps server (on an unshared, unmetered line) could achieve 30-40Gbps with a very good amp list. Of course, that would cost your kidney.

1Tbps is possible, but it is unlikely to ever happen. It is enough bandwidth to reach the capability of certain single mode fiber lines. I will glady apologize and accept i am wrong if evidence would set 1-2Tbps to be likely and standard.

Just someone want's to see how big of a target they can take out. China can take down much bigger things than GitHub.....

Wow didn't hear about this, but thats pretty weird they'd get DDoS'ed. Thought they had strnog abilities to restrain from such things.
