skyfactory 4 is quite good
especially if u play it on a server

Buildcraft is always a requirement, Computer craft if you know any lua script.

A good mod package is a package called "MADZIKBOX" I recommend many nice addons the package is Polish

Ice & Fire
Mo Creatures
Lycanite Mobs
OTG ( Open Terrain Generator, really good for realistic world gen)
Tough As Nails
And Twilight

I made my own personal modpack with curseforge with some of these mods and alot more and was just a really fun, and pretty crazy pack to play.

For me the most interesting modpack are the industrial xd, you have many things to do

Fire and Ice to add a bit of difficulty to the game

I think the best mod developer for minecraft is MrCrayfish
