Minecraft Sky is a good mod pack and you don't need such a good computer for it either.

For me the best is Tinker's Construct, I enjoy making new equipment and materials with it (I'm sad it's not on newer versions of MC).
Apple Core is very usefull.
Pam's HarvestCraft makes the food system more diverse definately a worth install.
