So, I got GTA V during the Steam Summer Sale this year and holy crap it was so laggy. And I'm running on a Ryzen 5 2600X with a GTX 2060 and 2x8GB 2666Mhz sticks. Right now I'm currently on a 30 day suspension but I wanna get into the game again. Since then I've overclocked my CPU to 4.1Ghz, GTX 2060 +100core, +400mem, and my RAM sticks were apparently running at 2133 instead of 2400Mhz but I've since overclocked it to 2666Mhz. I used to only get 40FPS but I've been told a large reason to my poor performance in game back then was due to GTA V not being optimized for Ryzen, but I'm not sure if that's the case, I'm thinking it was due to my RAM speed. Any suggestions for when I get back into the game to improve performance?

I am pretty sure that your CPU is the main problem. Also GTA may not work as expected because of the OC. That is a common issue that occurs in many games e.g. Overwatch.

Also I think your RAM can't run at 2666 because your MB only supports 2400 unless you have overclocked your RAM in your BIOS.

I'd guess it's the Ryzen. My specs are way worse than yours and I get an easy 60 FPS

Have you tried upgrading your RAM? Instead of just overclocking it?
