Okay so First off (this part is specific to controller, not sure about Mouse), highest sensitivity is not the best sensitivity, on Modern Warfare I heard the pros typically recommend around 10-12, I personally use 15, as I am used to higher sensitivity. also make your short range ads (aim down sight) lower, and long range ads high (I use 0.93 and 1.1 respectively), as common problems for people is short range is too fast and long range is too slow.

So to the main course, what you want to do is set up a custom game mode, unlimited time, turn off the shot sensor, and uav dots on shooting, killstreaks, killcam, and other related timers. Also remove any limits, you want it so you can play for as long as you wish. set to free for all. and save it as whatever name you wish, I recommend something like "aim training."

Next the bots, set to recruit, and max no. spawn, or less depending on the gun you are trying to learn, e.g. for sniper you might not want the maximum number of bots when you start out, although you will want to be able to do it with the maximum number of bots. although fair warning shotguns are still quite annoying.

Now for the map, I personally use shoothouse, as it was the map the person I got it from used, I would link that video, but I watched it over a month ago and don't remember. (I just searched aim training). However you should use whatever map you either want to play well on, or want to get better at. Or if you spam shipment then just do shipment... glhf tho.

As for shooting technique, the general guidelines for automatic weapons is to aim around the upper chest and let recoil make it a headshot, although this depends on the amount of recoil your gun has, just play around with it for a while and to get a feel for it, you can also shoot it at a wall or something to see the recoil pattern, this is of importance as different guns have different patterns, and I assume that attachments may change it as well, although i haven't tested that so I don't know.

For movement, what you want to do is learn how people will come around corners, bots are pretty similar but as you verse more experienced players they might jump around or dropshot, but a good general rule is to learn the most likely place someone will be when you go around a corner, for shoothouse this would be places like spawns, and that wall on either side that people camp behind dueling each other. But it is good practice to move your crosshair to where someone likely will be so that when you go around the corner you are already aiming at them.

Moving onto aiming, you want to keep your focus on the centre, I know for some it might be tempting (especially with larger screens) to look around, however doing so means you will then have to refocus on the centre and then aim, where as if you maintain focus you just move to aim. try to use peripheral vision if you can, it is for this reason that some believe that smaller screens are best, however I don't know if there is any truth to that, might just be what people think. Anyway what you want to get used to doing is only looking around with your crosshair, not your eyes, this might be difficult for those of you who are used to moba type games, or rpgs where you have to look around the screen constantly. But give it a few days and you will adjust.

Now for the loadout. Basically whatever gun you want to use most, I personally go for bullet velocity and damage as priority, then aiming speed and sprint-to-fire. but do what works for you. As for perks, since this is versing bots, you want scavenging, the others you can choose what you like, but if you want to better learn maybe avoid using awareness for the early stages so you purely rely on your own senses.

And that about sums it up. Personally using this has helped me hone my skill immensely, just today I finally unlocked the gold on the last smg also unlocking platinum. the pp19 was by far the worst to use for long range.... considering it has only a few attachments that improve its long range ability. although i was using reflex sights... so.
