I dont know if I understand what your saying??

Do I agree that the average joe like me should be able to buy a firearm??
Absolutely, I love my firearms and I dare anyone to try and take that away from me. I know you loose your gun rights if your a felon and thats ok too.
If they try and take away our firearms they would be going against out 2nd amendment and that would cause a big uproar.

"The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects the individual right to keep and bear arms."

guns are a very needed part of the US. Without them the government would be able to do whatever they want

As a UK resident, I can understand and respect the american right to bear arms, though I think it is extremely dangerous with the litany of shooting happening across the country regularly.

I agree to disagree.. Fuck The Second Amendment but anyway don't you think the US would have a wayyy less death rate of firearms if it was totally banned? We shouldn't tolerate the very idea of supporting weapons for mass murder, it should become as repugnant as child sexual abuse, just totally unacceptable in civil society..Though i own a .22 myself

No we wouldn't have way less death rate if we banned them.. The people shooting others related to gangs and such are not going to the store and buying the firearms to begin with. I watched a whole documentary about this kind of thing.. There are poor country that make firearms for someone and sells them for dirt cheap. That someone smuggles them into the US and sells them for over double to gangs and cartels and such for double the price since they are unregistered and not in the system.. The said gang uses it to kill someone then sells it for dirt cheap as a dirty gun and it just gets passed around. Now if you banned firearms and I wasn't able to protect my family from someone breaking into my house with a gun they got from Columbia I would be pissed and dead. Basically the people doing the shooting and creating these deaths are getting the firearms somewhere else other then stores and will continue to get them even if they were banned. Granted some guns do come from breaking into someones place that have guns but most of us that have guns have a nice safe to put them in and keep one ready to go. I stand by the 2nd amendment.

I can talk about the States and their gun laws for ages.

But the battlefield is divided so equally and some people really get up in your face,so I just leave Americans battle it out alone.

Plus, both sides have solid arguments,so good luck reaching middle ground.
5 years of my debating career are not enough to convince every American about either choice.

Think it's really a culture difference. I don't think weapons should be easily accessible in the first place. Just compare how many shootings with other countries there are and you should see a vast difference between them. Between the countries that do prohibit weapons I mean.

I can't blame the people in America though, because that's how they have been raised. For the same principle as that in Asia it's "normal" to eat dogs. They don't know any better and deem it as normal too.

I thought some of the data about guns and crime rates during the stay-at-home orders was super interesting. I would have thought that all crime would decrease, and while violent crimes did, gun violence remained or increased its rate.
