I don't own any gun where I'm staying right now but in my home country pretty much everyone has a gun. I've got an ar-15 and a five seven there, however I don't think I'm going to see then for a long time

To carry a gun is illegal in most of the countries in the world. Most of the countries in the world are safer than the US.

I won't simply link the freedom to carry guns with violence (In Switzerland and Canada, two very safe countries, you can get guns although it's complicated compared to the US). But what strikes me is how much US citizens feel unsafe and defiant over their government. You have the stigmatas of a third world country.

I honestly have no clue what you're saying. I feel 100% safe and cozy.

I don't see the purpose of having guns being legal. Sure, they protect you but at the same time they also make criminals more dangerous.

You feel safe because you own a gun. Which means you wouldn't feel safe without a gun. Not feeling safe without a gun means that you don't trust the government for making your and your family safe. I see a real issue with that. It's only in failed states that citizens don't trust their government for their security.

......I don't even have a gun. Never owned one. This will be my first gun.

I don't fear the government, that's retarded. I fear crazy people.

My purpose for having a gun is for self defense...not the government. It's not like I'm fearful ofmilitaryjets, tanks, troops spawing around my house lmao.

But I get what you're saying though. The police here in the U.S. are awesome. However, police don't arrive in 10 seconds, depending on where you live you can wait up to 5-15 minutes. A lot can happen in a couple minutes...Cops are only there for the aftermath most of the time.

There are many countries who banned guns and see increase in crime. Bad guys get guns illegally, good guys are sitting ducks waiting for rescuer.
Hell, even the UK banned guns and crime went up or remained the same. Did absolutely nothing lol. People resort to knives and acid now. There are states in the usa where guns laws are very strict and they tend to have some of the worst crimes rates.

I personally don't have a gun yet. I'm getting an M&P2.0 Shield 9mm next week. I got my Texas LTC last week so I will be able to legally open and conceal carry a hangun.

What guns do you own? Do you have a open/conceal carry license?

Virginia is open carry without a license, so people just strap up when need be. I have been meaning to get my conceal but I'm transferring back to California next year so I gave up on that.

I own a 1911 Rock Island .45 its big so I doubt I'd be able to conceal it anyways haha. Best purchase I've made, makes me feel at ease when I'm home (home invasions are a thing!) and I plan on getting a shotgun next year and another handgun for the girlfriend for when I'm not at home.

I don't know. I have it hoping I'll never have to use it but its truly put my mind at ease with all the craziness in the world these days. I'd just rather go out on my own terms, not at the mercy of another.
