I told them as well, they should of bought the custom theme from linkz because then linkz wouldn't release it but by the time I told them they already paid.

Unlucky for them, but most people are dumb enough to go ahead and use ripped themes on their forums, when they're hosted onshore with a DMCA compliant host. This kinda makes it easy for them to fight back, but not many people do. Why? because along with being dumb enough to host onshore with nulled and/or ripped content, they also think using ripped/nulled content will get their sites going. Instead, they'll die faster so the content owner just sits back and watch.
It doesn't matter where they bought from, it would be ripped and released elsewhere.
