I used KMS too as I had Win 8/ 8.1, so KMS should work fine for you.

But I think the easiest way to to it is to download and install Windows 7. If you've done that, you should get an invite to download a legit version of Windows 10. If you've done that, you got a legit Windows version and you're fine.
