Thinking of starting a server on a game maybe minecraft for fun and also to try make some money off it, can anyone reccommend some good hosts or ways to host and also good ideas for a server? I need somthing unique and somthing that makes people want to play like quests or goals and rewards and an element to make money.

Just buy a linux VPS. Don't go with these shitty game hosting sites.

i'd go with hosthavoc, they are a good host and i'm hosting a gmod server with them that is why i am here right now!

I agree with Ariana. ALWAYS go with VPS or dedicated servers. Game hosters usually shared hardware and it's shit. I would recommend using NFO Servers or OVH for rental!

FatCatTuxedo, there actually isn't bad game server hosting. The best ones out there right now are, crident.com and gmchosting.com. Don't buy a Minecraft server, it's not profitable unless you can make a good custom minecraft server. Garry's mod is a good profitable game to start. SuperiorServers is an example. The owner can literally live off of his donations.

As said above game server hosts share hardware and your port will never be the default port for the game.

FatCatTuxedo So should I get a Windows KVM that I can like remote into? or just learn how to use the command line and get a linux server? I'd have no clue how to setup but suppose I could learn.

Thats a great price on OVH for 8gb ram 40GB storage and 2 cores right? with ubuntu OS[Image: bddb418713223a1754985df58122c7ad.png]

Once you change it to windows they will add an extra 20.

If your looking to get into OVH then ur better going to their partners
https://www.soyoustart.com/en/
https://www.kimsufi.com/uk/

They offer older hardware at a lower price.

I recommend server.pro or Bisect. Both are great with awesome support and user friendliness.
