I started in 1.6.4, but I knew of the game like 2 years before then. I started because of the coding summer camp I went to that year, everyone seemed to love the game. I decided to play it and realized that I was stumbling on what may be the best video game made ever.

i started playing minecraft at Alpha 1.2.6

Since the 1.8 beta, i was a lil late to the party
