How can we change 1.8 time to 1.6

I would like to know how can we while having 1.8 still change back (of course with template edits) to 1.6 time?

It is a nice change which shows the last minute hour ago thing on the index or forum display for posts/threads. But what if someone still prefers and likes the old timings on when a user posts/comments.

Example - last post 7 minutes ago to
last post Today 10.30AM

With some knowledge on how the variable is displayed, you could change it by simple template edits. Although i think there used to be an Option on AdminCP (Can't recall though). I'll keep and eye on the config to see if i can find it somewhere.
