How did you first get into Anime?

My friend gave me some to watch while I was on the holidays because I always found it interesting, my first Anime was Sword Art Online, I then was addicted.

anime is just like normal cartoons in my country (indonesia)
dubbed and airings in my country even before i was born.

A friend of mine gived to me a naruto book (the first one) after i bought the collection and started watching one piece, bleach, etc.

The first impression was : "Wow it's fucking cool" xD

I saw Naruto on TV, got me interested.

In Germany. There used to by a channel called Pokito. Can't remember the order but it aired Detective Conan, Inuyasha, Naruto and more. German school ended at 1pm, same time Detective Conan started so it was just an interesting thing to watch. Ended up really liking Naruto and couldn't be assed with all the repeats due to the german dub taking half a century. So I ended up buying and reading the Naruto manga. This carried on until circa 5 years ago. At which point I just completely lost interest in reading, manga and anime in general.


Ended up accidentally watching some reacts video while half-asleep as I just stared at the youtube playlist continue. Was them reacting to Attack on Titan. That got me back into anime. Then a slew of animes: Death Note, Code Geass, Tokyo Ghoul, Deadman Wonderland, Bleach and more solidified my return.

good old draggonball when it was aired around noon after school :D still one of my favorites, love the humor

Cartoon network had its toonami which had on at the time Reboot, Dragonball Z, Johnny Quest, & Zoids. Those were my jams but I watched every single cartoon out there you can think of there were so many great series.
