How do I donwload mods

Does anyone know how I can download mods I'm turely confused and someone link me a video thats not confusing

1. Download and install Forge ModLoader for your Minecraft version
   
2. Download .jar file of mod and drop it to %appdata%\.minecraft\mods
   
3. Launch game.
   

You need to install Forge, then you create a folder called "mods" inside ".minecraft" folder. After that you can install mods from Forge website.

why not just go to Twitch launcher and find a pack

First, you need to install Forge. It's pretty easy - There are installers available, and they do the job for you.
After that, you need to install the mods. Some of the mods provide instructions of how to install the mods, and that is very important. Some mods may require others to function properly.
(In general, most of the mods are installed by putting them in a folder with the name "mods", inside of your ".minecraft" folder. To access it, type "%appdata%" on your computer search bar and open the ".minecraft" folder. If there is no "mods" folder, you can create one.)
After installing the mods, launch minecraft and you're good to go.

The simplest way is to add a twitch launcher or ftb launcher or technic launcher. And there you find a lot of modpacks.
